About These Terms
These terms apply when you book work with T‑Rex Plumbing, owned and run by Trevor Terpend in Cape Town. Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other South African law.
Quotes and Pricing
Every quote is formal and in writing, and the price you pay is the one in your written quote or as agreed with you before work starts. Prices on this website are a guide only. Our call-out fee is R400 and our standard labour rate is R900 an hour; Saturday labour is charged at time-and-a-half, and emergency and Sunday call-outs at double. A call-out fee may apply when we come out to quote; if you go ahead with the job, it is deducted from the final price. If we find something during a job that changes the scope or price, we will tell you and get your go-ahead before continuing.
Booking and Call-Outs
You can book by phone, WhatsApp, the chat on this website or the contact form. A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a time with you.
Payment Terms
Payment is due when the work is complete, unless your written quote sets out different terms, for example a deposit for materials on larger jobs such as renovations. We invoice you for all work on the job.
Cancellations
You may cancel or reschedule a booking. Please let us know as early as possible. If you cancel after we have already travelled to you, the call-out fee may be charged. If we have ordered materials specifically for your job, you may be charged a reasonable amount for them, as the Consumer Protection Act allows.
Warranty on Work
All new work carries a 1-year workmanship warranty from T‑Rex Plumbing. If a problem covered by this warranty comes up within that year, contact us and we'll come back and put it right. The warranty covers our workmanship only. Parts, materials and appliances are covered by their manufacturer's own warranty, and we'll help you start a manufacturer claim where needed. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, or by work done on the same plumbing by someone else after us. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
Access and Making Good
Sometimes reaching a pipe means opening a wall, floor or ceiling. We will discuss this with you before we do it. Unless it is included in your quote, making good finishes such as tiling, plastering or painting is quoted separately.
Liability
We take responsibility for loss or damage caused by our negligence while doing your work. We are not responsible for faults that existed before we started, for problems in parts of the plumbing we were not asked to work on, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
