What Is a Plumbing COC, and When You Need One
A Certificate of Compliance confirms your home's plumbing meets the required standard.
Selling or Transferring a Property
The seller is typically responsible for providing a valid COC as part of the sale.
Insurance Requirements
Some insurers require a valid COC before they'll pay out on a plumbing-related claim.
New Installations and Renovations
New plumbing work, including a new geyser installation, typically requires a COC.
Municipal Compliance
Confirms your plumbing meets the required municipal standard.
What We Check During a COC Inspection
Every fitting and connection gets checked:
Pipework and fittings
: Every fitting and connection checked, anything a previous installer got wrong gets flagged.Geyser safety valve and installation
: Checked as part of every inspection.Drainage and waste
: Checked for compliance.Water pressure and backflow
: Checked for compliance.

What a COC Costs, and What Moves the Number
There's no single price for a COC inspection - the real cost depends on the size of the property and whether any non-compliant fittings need to be fixed before the certificate can be issued.
The inspection itself is R900. If we find work that needs doing before the certificate can be issued, or extra testing like a drain or stormwater test, we send you a written quote for that first.

How the Inspection Runs
We've kept the process simple on purpose.
- Book an Inspection: Call, text, or WhatsApp to find a time that works.
- We Inspect the Property: Every fitting and connection checked, with a written report of anything found.
- We Fix Anything That Fails: Repair work needed to reach compliance is backed by our 1-year workmanship warranty.
- We Issue Your Certificate: Issued the moment everything checks out.

Turnaround Time
Usually 1 to 5 working days from booking to certificate in hand, provided the property passes. If it doesn't, we quote for the fixes, do the work once you approve it, and then sign off.
A plumbing COC is valid for six months. Any plumbing work done on the property after that point voids it, so time it with your sale.

Geyser repair
Excellent service! My geyser was pulling around 24 units of electricity a day and he came out and diagnosed and fixed the issue. He spent over two hours here making sure everything was sorted. Very professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely lovely to deal with. I really appreciated the time and care he took to get everything right. Highly recommend!!
