Who We Are
T‑Rex Plumbing is a plumbing business based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, owned and run by Trevor Terpend. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). What Information We Collect
When you contact us through this website's contact form, the chat widget, WhatsApp, phone or email, we collect the details you give us: usually your name, phone number, email address, the address where work is needed, and a description of the problem, plus any photos you choose to send. When we do work for you, we also keep job, quote and invoice records. This website does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. The chat widget and the embedded Google Map on our contact page are provided by third parties and may set their own cookies when they load.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, book and carry out work, invoice you, honour our workmanship warranty, and keep the records the law requires (for example, tax records). After a job, we may ask you to leave a review. If you are an existing customer, we may occasionally contact you about similar services; you can opt out at any time by replying to say so, and we will stop.
Who We Share It With
We never sell your information. We share it only where needed to run the business: our booking, contact form and customer messaging system (LeadConnector/HighLevel), our accounting software (Xero), our website host (Vercel), WhatsApp when you message us there, and contractors who help us carry out the work on your job. Some of these providers store information on servers outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.
How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your information safe, including password-protected accounts, limiting access to people who need it to do the work, and using reputable service providers. If we become aware of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires us to keep records such as invoices. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Your Rights
Under POPIA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to us using it (including for marketing), and to withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of this, email info@trexplumbing.co.za. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at www.inforegulator.org.za.
